Important Information

“Pets and other animals tend to need few calories per pound as they get bigger. For example if a hummingbird were 150 lbs it would need about 155,000 kcals/day; if an elephant were 150 lbs it would need 700 kcal/day. Similarly, larger breed dogs need fewer calories per pound than smaller breed dogs.

Reduce food calories provided by chews, treats, and people-food from total daily caloric intake. We suggest no more than 5% of daily calories be sourced from chews, treats, or people-food that is not nutritionally formulated into the total diet.

Suggested Daily Serving

*Individual variables may modify caloric need. See our feeding calculator for more precise feeding instructions.

It is our recommendation that you calculate daily intake to account for the increased bioavailability and absorption. Use our feeding calculator to calculate caloric intake at 88kcals/oz. This is better for your budget and generally better for your pet’s health and body composition.

Pet Weight Amount
Up to 50lbs 2.3oz/10lbs of body weight per day
